Description

Pencil on paper, Mouse, Corel Painter, PS and a lot of time

Another painting for the series I'm planning to do... about evolution, technology, nature, machine, man, and....you know :p In this one, the man is being pulled by the technology out from his nature roots.

I'm not quite sure about the composition, I only focused on the details to be honest... I don't know, you tell me :p

Critics are welcome, hope you like this!

I like it, i'm not sure I like the character in repetition though it does flow well with te theme evolution so it has a place, I really like how this images reads right to left, from the darks to lights, and the orange background is great. well done, another stand out painting! :)

The pose is quite interesting, it definitly catches the eye. Good use of color for the backround, especially the way it contrasts the figure. The area where the torso meets the base seems flat, which could easily be enhanced. Nice job on it even if you mainly only focused on the details.

Interesting as always and the brighter palette certainly raises this one above some of your others.

I also really like the multiple images...It's nice to see the digital medium being really exploited.

The only thing I don't like is that I can't 'see' technology pulling him from his natural roots...I only know that because you tell us so in your description. Something less organic, more technological, pulling at him would tell your story better I feel.

Nice thought provoking work though.

the composition and angle of the body form, lends to a sense of dragging, the motion comes across well, though i agree with Kaduflyer it would be hard to tell technology was the source of the dragging with out your description, everything feels very organic due to shapes. maybe metal hooks, or tethers, or clasps of some way could subtly be worked in, something cold and metalish.

Thanks a bunch for all the critics!

Kaduflyer and PeterGrave, I totally agree with both. There is no way you can tell the "human" is dragged out by technology... I thought about adding some machinery in the right side of the painting, but the truth is: I was too damn lazy :p

Loneorbit, I can see what you mean, I'll try to fix that too.

I'll take the idea of using some metal claws or hooks (thanks Peter), I think that will be pretty good addition to expain the idea in a better manner. I'll do that and the rest of the changes when I get my tablet () this week, along with other corrections to the rest of the illustrations I made for this idea.

Thanks a lot again for the feedback everyone, this truly helps me a lot to improve!

Before I read your description this picture symbolised to me the feeling of getting ripped apart. If everything around you seems to collapse like a house of cards and you don't know what to do.
